The Land We Inhabit

The Land We Inhabit is a subjective documentary photography project that explores the relationship between people and Ecuador’s natural environments. Through images of the páramo, rivers, forests, wildlife, cities, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure, the series follows water from its origin in the highlands to the communities and ecosystems it sustains. It also reveals the traces left by human activity and reflects on a central idea: we belong to the land, but we do not own it. Its protection depends on the choices we make today.

Your photographs feel like visual stories about everyday life and place. They capture quiet, intimate moments, the texture of the city, and the way people move through their surroundings. Each image holds a sense of time, memory, and emotion, inviting the viewer to slow down and really look. Together, your work becomes a poetic document of how we inhabit the world.
